This article is part of my Spiral of Magickal Living™ series, where I share the five sacred spirals that support authentic living and empowered self-care. Together, these spirals create a simple, cyclical, and deeply supportive way of moving through life. If you’re just joining, you can start here—or follow along week by week as the journey unfolds.
When my 17-year marriage ended, my world felt like it had collapsed. The heartbreak was overwhelming—and yet, it was also the opening I didn’t know I needed.
The Healing Power of Sacred Space
I began therapy soon after, and those sessions became a lifeline. My therapist had an extraordinary gift for holding space: he witnessed me deeply, without judgment, and with such love that I felt safe enough to begin showing up as my true self for the very first time in my adult life.
In that space, I could finally face truths I had avoided for years and begin healing the wounds of never feeling like I was enough, always feeling like I was too much, and the constant ache of not feeling safe to simply be me. Our work together was life-changing—but between sessions, I often felt tender and raw, in need of something to keep me grounded.
Finding Support in Spiritual Practice
That’s when I turned toward my spiritual and magickal practices.
Ritual, moon work, altar time, journaling, slow walks in nature, and intentional daily pauses became my lifelines. These weren’t just “things to do.” They were touchpoints that helped me embody the healing work I was doing in therapy. They anchored me in the knowing that I was always held—not only by my therapist and the work we were doing, but also by something greater than anything my human mind could fully comprehend.

The Shift Into Presence
As my practices deepened, I began to notice signs, synchronicities, and so-called coincidences everywhere. Over time I realized these signs are happening all the time—but we only notice them when we are truly present.
Working with the Moon’s cycles, living in rhythm with the seasons, and creating daily rituals gave me those sacred pauses. They opened me up to the ever-present Divine guidance. They reminded me that rest is as sacred as action, that releasing is as powerful as creating, and that life itself moves in cycles—not straight lines.
Uncovering Self-Love
Slowly, I began peeling away layers of perfectionism and people-pleasing. I let go of beliefs about success that were never truly mine.
What I uncovered was what I had been longing for all my life: a deep well of peace, joy, and self-love—love that had nothing to do with doing or giving, and everything to do with simply being.
The Spiral of Magickal Living™
This is the heart of what I now call the Spiral of Magickal Living™. Back then, I didn’t have a name for it. I just knew that these practices—woven together—were holding me in a way nothing else could.
They helped me move from suffering to sovereignty.
And that’s why I share them now. Because they are not just my path—they are a sacred support system that is always available to anyone willing to slow down, listen, and step into their magick.

This article is part of my Spiral of Magickal Living™ series. In the next installment, I’ll share about the first of the five Spirals—the Divine Container—and how it reminds us that we are never truly alone.
